My name is Joel Giorgio, and I am an Austin-based DJ that specializes in skillfully emceeing and providing DJ services at weddings. When I moved to Austin in the mid 1990s to attend UT, I developed a keen interest in the technique disk jockeys were using to mix live using vinyl records. Over the years, I have developed the ability to mix live, using any genre, with seamless transitions between songs. Only a few wedding DJs in Austin have this ability, and I am one of them.
After graduating from Texas in 2001 and later on completing a masters degree in autism education, I taught young children with various disabilities in East Austin for five years. I have spent most of my life taking or teaching classes, but I am super glad to be a pro DJ.
Greenbelt DJ Productions is a one-man operation. I will DJ approximately 100 weddings in 2010. By the end of this year, I will have provided DJ services at approximately 300 weddings in the past four years. I did not aspire to be a formal event DJ, but I approach my job with the same ambition to be successful and honest that drove me to get a formal education and become a teacher. In other words, I humbly take my job very seriously and do not cut corners; I am very thorough and meticulous in my preparation for each and every event. I spend hundreds of hours each year trying to get better at my craft and customer service.
