Upon moving to
Austin to attend the University of
Texas in the mid-1990s, I
observed and became intensely interested in the method that night club
disk jockeys were using to mix songs using vinyl records on Technics
turntables, and
in the process, I taught myself how to
mix live. I have taken that knowledge with me into my early 30s, now
able to mix live using any song or genre you want to hear at your event.
After graduating from Texas in 2001, I recently obtained a masters
degree in autism education, while teaching school in East Austin for
five years, and owning/running Greenbelt DJ. Previously, I spent one
year writing at and working for the
Austin American Statesman. I personally DJ about 100 weddings per year.
We are well known in Austin for our super fun and energetic, non-cheesy
wedding and corporate event DJ/MC services. In my future, I plan to
start a nonprofit for autism education,
while continuing to grow and expand Greenbelt DJ into a one-stop wedding
event company. Recently, I was asked by a
close friend to officiate his wedding ceremony, so I have met the
minimum requirements to perform marriage ceremonies. Ask about the
special rate for DJ and officiant services.
